Here is a demonstration of the right wrist acting as a center of movement. As long as the body is anchored at true center(near the navel), any point can act as a center of movement. In "The Greatest Illusion of Golf" I refer to these as "false centers." These are not false in the sense that they cannot produce a pure shot. The ball in the instance of this photo demo went about ten yards straight and true. They are false in the sense that the full mass of the body is not being exploited and a loss of distance results. In addition, wherever the center is so too is the attentiveness. Much of the hacking going on in golf is the result of the mind trying to attend to a series of false centers. You will often see this wrist center technique used by some putters. Although many putting gurus warn against such a technique, it works well for many people. This is because body mass is not really needed for putting. x
