Dartboard
Artist's comments:
This was a long term project, the time mainly consumed in
wine cork collecting. The artist did not consume every bottle from which these corks
emerged. Much of the credit goes to the bartenders and servers of fine restaurant
establishments.
(Don't be a hack! Always tip at
least 20%)
Of note:
- The face of the dartboard serves as the face of a compass.
The cardinal points are labeled accordingly.
- The "S" is incorporated into the stem of a
question mark which is wrapping around the dartboard.
- The original Golden Barefoot Golf logo is incorporated into the design. The logo appears to be
moving off to the right.
- The face of the dartboard also serves as a paddle for the
logo to swing.
- The vertical center of the backboard is marked by the
brackets [ ]
- The arm of the logo and the question mark intersect at the
exact center of the backboard. (The question of movement has to do with the center)
- In the wake of the center of the logo is the perfect wave of
motion. This is depicted by the corks appearing to be lifted from the backboard.
- A sword extending from the Northwest quadrant into the
dartboard runs parallel to the "head" of the logo. This signifies the mind of
the swinger in perfect harmony with the mind of the swordsman.
