Whening a coinage the immediate now action in Mushin |

Although it's listed as number five "Whening" coincides with the advent of number six and persists through number nine. It indicates the initial burst of movement away from the ball which places the clubhead into orbit. The key to whening is that this initial burst of acceleration occurs in a very small and nearly immeasurable space. This initial burst most often occurs at the first movement away from the ball. But it can be delayed to through the advent of mechanical motions prior to releasing the clubhead into orbit. This is explained further in the article titled, "Waking to the Orbit of Swing."(available to product testers only) Even though "Whening" persists through number nine it is in the domain of "mushin" and therefore remains inextended through time. The one experiencing the "Whening" moment can only recall the burst of movement and the pure view of the ball persisting throughout the swing. | ||
